Is it that time again already?
It seems like it were only yesterday... I was using my Amiga 2000 for everything, blissfully unaware that I was toiling away on a 22-year old computer. But that was nearly four months ago... where does the time go?
Our main man Luddite has put out the call for entries, so after careful consideration, I sent mine in, knowing I'll be faced with a bit of a handicap - that I'll be out of town on business for half the month of July, and therefore away from most of my retromachines.
But since I enjoy nearly insurmountable challenges, I entered anyway, planning to work this unexpected little twist into my Retrochallenge plans.
The hard part was (as always) deciding which of my retromachines
to use. When you have over a hundred old computers, making a snap
decision can be a bit difficult.
I thought of using one of my mid-period Sparcstations
(10, 20, IPC, IPX), one or more of my Amigas, my SGI Indy, one or
more of my DOS based Tandy laptops, and even my 486 DX2/66 running
OS/2 Warp 3.
But in the end, I felt I had some unfinished business to wrap up from last summer's Retrochallenge...
My dismal results from last year really left a bad taste in my mouth, and a lingering feeling that I just can't shake, a feeling that I could have, should have, accomplished something more... especially with the computer I grew up using!
With that in mind, I've decided to use the Holy Trinity
again. with my Sparc
IPX to be called in if needed.
